So this is my About Page. I’m supposed to tell you, in ever so eloquent prose, just what this site is about and a little back story of what I’m up to. Well, let’s just say I’ve got a real loosely formed vision of what I’d like to see this site become.
So here I am, an empty Wordpress site in front me, ready to bring this baby to the world. But what, you say, is my passion? What the heck is an Inspired Creative? It took me a bit of serious head scratching to ferret out what my passion really is. Sure I love a lot of things, but what is it that is constantly on my mind? What do I always fall back on, no matter what endeavors I undertake? Well, there’s technology. I love that. But do I want to talk about it all the time? No. There’s metalsmithing which I took up a couple of years ago. I love to hammer and form metal. I love the pretty colors of a perfectly adjusted torch (that may sound a little pyro, but trust me I’m not). Only thing is, I really suck at that. But hammer and anneal I will continue, in pursuit of that elusive piece that actually becomes wearable art someday.
Then there’s that being green, eco-friendly, sustainable, Victory Garden planting, save-the-planet, closet-hippie side of me that’s been lurking under the surface for years. I do talk about these things a lot, much to the chagrin of family and friends. I do think we need to make our lives simpler, not just for ourselves, but for the greater good of all. We (hubby & I) have taken some action and started down the Urban Farming rabbit hole (it ain’t as easy as it looks, trust me). Our ultimate the-Universe-just-opened-up-and-granted-us-our-wildest-dream is a little cabin on an acre of land. We’ll get there, God Willing, as Mom used to say. And then there’s that nagging, ear-worm sort of thought I just can’t shake since picking up A Nation of Farmers – do the everyday choices we make have far-reaching consequences for people half way around the world? In our world of hyper-connectivity, just how connected are we with those whom we share this planet?
Oh, you thought I’ve got the answers? Hecky no!!! THAT’s what this site is for. I’ve got questions, and I’m sure you do too. Tons and tons of questions. I need answers, don’t you? Let’s converse, shoot the breeze, chew the fat, argue, commiserate, gossip, point fingers (if only at ourselves), embrace each other, boost our Karma quotients. Let’s talk.
But what’s an Inspired Creative, you ask impatiently? Anyone, individual or mammoth organization, who is taking action to help re-carve a better Universe for us all. We’re all inspired (In Spirit) and Creative. No, really, we are. So NO ONE is excluded. Everyone’s welcome at this table!!
