Thanks Krissy for commenting. Yes, Jason was a bit of a surprise for a first attempt at amigurumi. The cat, who of course has a serious yarn fetish, won't even play with him. Go figure...

You know, I'm just returning to crochet after many years of shying away from it. For some reason my first attempts amounted to a pretty bad experience. My return to it was prompted by my search for a flower to cover up a craft fail on a clutch purse. Then the snow storms came, and when the snow finally abated, I actually understood why so many say crocheting is easier than knitting. Now I've become a crocheting fool. However, I won't do anything big. My attention span won't last longer than one granny square.

I think NaBloPoMo will be fun. I need that extra kick to get me in here and actually writing.

I'm coming by from NaBloPoMo. I love your blog. I used to crochet a lot but haven't in years. My Mom is picking it up again. Your comment about Jason is cracking me up! I'd better get off of here, girl, before I can't stop laughing! Anyway, take care, and your crocheting is beautiful!

Thanks Eileen,
I LOVE your Whosits. Thanks for the tip. I'm going to Joann's this weekend to get more crochet hooks. These are so much fun to make. I had never heard of amigurumi before. I'm glad I found it.

When doing amigurumi, you have to crochet very tightly. If you are using a worsted weight yarn, use a size F hook. I know a lot of the patterns tell you to use a G, but trust me, use an F. And check out some of our amigurumi (already made and patterns) at HappyWhosits.com.

Yes, I do fear that the pairing of two Jasons would end badly. Not to mention the nightmares I'd have. I'll revisit this little guy once I get some more crochet hooks and different yarn.
